10 Things to Know about Dragon NaturallySpeaking v11

  1. The editions have been renamed:
    • Standard is now Home
    • Preferred is now Premium
    • Professional remains the same

  2. Dragon can now adjust its performance to take advantage of more powerful PCs, and will also now run on low-end processors such as the Intel Atom – so you can now run Dragon on a Netbook!

  3. The User Interface (UI) has been greatly enhanced, with a new Dragon ToolBar and changes to the Correction & Spell dialog boxes.
  4. Improved speed and accuracy (of course!), including Recognition Analytics that detect poor audio quality and alerts the user.

  5. Full support for new applications including Microsoft Office 2010.

  6. Big improvements to the correction process, including a “don’t recognise that word” command to fix repetitive misrecognitions. Dragon also now learns from all edits, including keyboard edits.

  7. A much better way of handling multiple instances of a word or phrase – no more “select again….select again…” when formatting or correcting.

  8. Many new commands for launching applications and folders, switching between windows, searching etc.

  9. Direct support for transcribing recordings in .dss and .dss2 file formats, along with some great new tools for 3rd party editing.

  10. All versions now have full support for MS Outlook.
